Tenate Et Perficite - Attempt and Achieve, the 102 Squadron Motto |
On August 12th 1941, having completed his pilot training, Archie arrived at RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. At this time the base was being used as a conversion and operational training base. As well as 102 Squadron, 77 Squadron were based there for a period.
